Gulf Dirt Track National Championship 2005

JODHPUR: Thrilled were the crowd who witnessed the Gulf Dirt Track National Championship on the 18th September at Polo ground – Jodhpur, where C.S. Santosh gave an outstanding performance on his 250 cc TVS Suzuki.

H. H Gaj Singhji, flagged off the 3rd round of the 5 way Gulf Dirt Track National Championship.

The entry count crossed a century and finally 104 entries took off, a tremendous response from motorsports enthusiasts and for the first time in Jodhpur motorsports there were 9 ladies who entered on their scooters in the, ‘ladies upto 110cc’ Category.

In all there were 14 classes. C.S. Santosh of TVS Racing on his TVS Suzuki in the Foreign Expert class emerged as the best rider of the day with 37 points.

C.S. Santosh of TVS Racing on his TVS Suzuki in the Indian Expert Class, Rustom Patel of Mumbai on his TVS Shogun in the Private Expert Class and Pramod Joshua of Team Yamaha on his Yamaha in the Indian Novice Class, topped the podium.

Abhishek Mishra on his Yamaha in the 4 stroke Local Class proved to be the fastest Rajasthani.

There was also a ladies class where Khusbu Prajapat on her Honda Activa followed by Rameshwari on her Kinetic showed their riding skills.

Abhishek Mishra & Sarosh Mulla of Jaipur & Mumbai on his Bikes in the Local &Novice Class respectively , gave a terrific performance.

The series sponsored by Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd., is held under the aegis of The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) and organized by Sportscraft, provided thrilling fare, with some of the best riders of the country participating, Riders from TVS Racing and Team Yamaha added glamour to the show, exhibiting their skills over high speed, breaking ability over bends and controlling their machine in the slush. Besides these professionals there were experts from Bangalore, Jaipur, Bhopal, Pune, Nashik and Mumbai who put up an excellent show.
