GULF DIRT TRACK NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 2 WHEELERS 1ST ROUND PUNE 22nd - 23rd APRIL 2005

The Gulf Oil Corp. Ltd. keeping up to its task of promoting motor sports in India have gone a step ahead and have decided to enhance the rounds of Gulf Dirt Track Challenge as National Championship rounds.

Since last 3 years rounds of Gulf Dirt Track Challenge has been organized in more then twelve cities small and big giving the motor sport enthusiast the opportunity to participate and prove their skills. As there are various groups and classes it gives choice for participation hence, any body having a two-wheeler can participate. At the same time you have manufacturers team trying to compete for the honors and the title making the event spectacular and interesting.

It is not only events for two- wheeler that Gulf Oil Corp. Ltd. is boosting but they have also supported National Car Rallies and have sponsored rally drivers.

This year till 31 December 2005 five rounds of Gulf Dirt Track National Championship will be organized. The tentative dates and venues are as follow:

Round 1 :: Pune :: 22 - 23 April 2005
Round 2 :: Bangalore :: 14 - 15 May 2005
Round 3 :: Delhi :: 17-18 September 2005
Round 4 :: Hyderabad : 01-02 October 2005
Round 5 :: Coimbatore :: 03-04 December 2005

With the interest motor sports has generated in last few years in India this is one event which any rider can participate with out really spending much.

The Championship will be in following groups and classes:

Indian Novice Class

1. Motorcyclles above 80cc upto 150cc 2 stroke Group ‘D’
2. Motorcycle upto 180cc 4 Stroke , group ‘D’

Indian Expert Class

1. Motorcycles above 80cc upto 150cc 2 stroke, Group ‘B’
2. Foregin Motorcycles upto 250cc 2 & 4 stroke, Group ‘A’

Private Expert class

Motorcycle above 80cc upto 150cc 2 stroke, Group ‘B’

Over 1.5 lakhs total championship amount will be disbursed among the Champions. And for each Zonal round prize money worth Rs.75,000/- will be given away along with the trophies.

Other races will be held in Scooter Class , 4 stroke Local class etc., Though they will not be counted in Championship Point

Entries for the same will be accepted till Friday 15th April 2005 : 1700 hrs. Late entries will close on Tuesday 19th April 1300 hours.

Sportscraft , Chitrakut, 3rd floor, Siri Road, Chwopatty band stand, Mumbai – 400 006, between Monday to Friday at 10:00hrs to 17:00hrs and on Saturday at 10:00 to 12:00noon. Till 19th April 2005.
