Madras Motor Sports Club’s efforts to introduce fresh talent in the arena of two wheeler racing continued with its 3rd motorcycle racing event of the summer exclusively for newcomers being held at the MMST track in Irrungattukottai. This was the final in the present series of races being held exclusively for newcomers. Encouraged by the response to the earlier races held on 6th February and 20th March 2005, Madras Motor Sports Club decided to have this race. And the response was excellent. For the first time the races had participants from Bangalore, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal apart from a few competitors from other districts of Tamilnadu. The event saw the number of entries going over 50. And of course, with a overwhelming number of vociferous racing enthusiasts pouring in to cheer the racers, it was definite proof that motor cycle racing is gaining tremendous popularity among the younger generation today. It was after a very long gap that the grid featured 15 riders in a single race. And for the second time Honda Unicorn vehicles were seen in action.

V.S.Rojesh and S. Prem Kumar emerged winners in the 1st and 2nd races in the Group B 110 to 150 cc 2 stroke category. While R. Karthikeyan won both the races in the Group B 2 stroke 80 to 110 cc category, T.R.Saravanan won the only race in the Group B 4 stroke 110 to 160 cc category. R. Karthikeyan also took the honors in the race for the moped category. R. Balakrishnan once again scored a double by winning both the races in the Race a Bike Scheme TVS Victor category, while P. A. Murugan won both races in the Race a Bike Scheme TVS Fiero category. Also seen in action today was 20 year old Chitra who participated in the Group B 2 stroke 80 to 110 cc category. In her first race she finished in the 3rd place also won thee novice award.
