NATIONAL RACING CHAMPIONSHIP 2005 Round 5 :: 10-11 September 2005 |
Coimbatore the home town of the legendary Karivardhan and the fastest Indian Narain Karthikeyan will get to witness yet another exciting and action packed round of motorcycle racing as the 5th leg of the FMSCI National Road Racing Championship 2005 for two wheelers gets underway on 10th and 11th September at the Kari Motor Speedway . The qualifying races will be held on Saturday, 10th September.
Over 50 competitors in various categories will fight out for the honors in what promises to be yet another exciting weekend for racing enthusiasts. And with the championship now reaching the penultimate stage, the riders are bound to go all out – with those in the lead having to consolidate their positions while for the others it will have to be a do or die effort to make it at least into the top 3 in their respective categories.
At the end of the 4th round, Preetam Dev Moses continues to maintain the lead in the Group D 4 stroke 80 to 110 cc category with a tally of 128 points followed by Sriskandaraja and K. Rajini with 111 and 104 points respectively. As the leads are very slender, the races in this category promise all the makings of a thriller.
In the Group D 4 stroke 111 to 160 cc category it is K. Rajini in 1st place with 130 points. Emmanuel Jebaraj with 95 points and Emmanuel Clarke with 87 points are in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
The next three categories will see a tough battle for the 2nd and third places as the championship leaders in these classes are well entrenched with very comfortable leads. A win in both the rounds of this event could ensure hat the championship title is theirs.
Ganesh Prasad looks all set to wrap up the championship title in the Group D 2 stroke 111 to 160 cc category having amassed 123 points which looks almost unbeatable as he now has a lead of 60 points over his nearest rival Senthilnathan who has a total of 63 points against his name. S.Kumar with 61 points is in 3rd place.
In Group C 2 stroke 111 to 160 cc category T.K.Vishwanath is well placed with 200 points followed by V. Senthilnathan and K.Rajini with 154.5 and 151.5 points respectively. In hot pursuit for the 2nd and 3rd places will also be Sriskandaraja with 139.5 and Preetam Dev Moses with 130 points.
The main races will commence on Sunday, 11th September at 9.30 a.m. Entry for the public is free.
