UNVEILS UPGRADED VARIANTS OF ALL ITS VEHICLES

Unicorn, Dio, Activa and Eterno enhanced to suit customer requirements

Manesar, Wednesday, October 26, 2005: Buoyed by the awe-inspiring response received by its products, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd, launched revamped versions of all its brands – Unicorn, Dio, Activa and Eterno. The vehicles have been technologically upgraded to add a touch of class, appeal and perfection. In its endeavour to provide superior quality to its discerning customers, the leading two-wheeler manufacturer has also introduced Gen-next aesthetics and graphics in its brands.

Expressing his views on the changes, Yukihiro Aoshima, President & CEO, HMSI said, “Honda has always worked hard to completely satisfy its customers. Since the beginning, HMSI has continued to read the changing preferences of it customers and the changes incorporated in the products are an acknowledgment and tribute to the ever expanding customer base of Honda in India”. He further added, “We believe that the variants will consolidate our market position and HMSI will continue on the steady growth path that it has been following over the years.”

The following are the changes made to HMSI’s products:

UNICORN
With the Honda Unicorn winning accolades across the spectrum of media, the latest being the METRIC Consultancy satisfaction survey where the Unicorn returned a highly enviable first position in quality and performance. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. recently announced the launch of the all-new 150 cc Honda Unicorn that is adorning new sportier and stylish looks.

The new Honda Unicorn now comes with latest ‘Honda Wing design’ graphics on front cowl, fuel tank and rear cowl that have given the motorcycle a sportier and trendier look. To stress upon the unique monosuspension feature available in the motorcycle HMSI has also added a ‘Monosuspension’ sticker to the side panels. Furthermore the side panels have also been changed from PP material to ABS to give better shine and lustre to the Vehicle. ABS material adds elegance and appeal to the vehicle. The Unicorn’s performance has been further improved upon with the installation of new flat disc brakes, more powerful horn (90 diameter) and higher ground clearance.

ACTIVA
ActivaThe Honda Activa, launched in 2001, will now be available in electrifying ‘Misty Pink’ colour. In addition, the company has also introduced Activa graphics on the side and front panel to add appeal. New Tuff up tube stickers enhances the overall looks. With a 102 cc, 4stroke single cylinder Air-cooled engine and V-matic transmission, the new Activa’s ease of use makes it an ideal family vehicle. Earning it the tag ‘Designed For Everyone’.

 

 

DIO
The Dio with its completely revamped looks, packs a punch with a stunning new dual tone finish which makes the rider ‘Get Noticed’. Three additional colours – Gurarau Red, Misty Pink Metallic and Moon Yellow – have been introduced to make a style statement like never before. The 102 cc engine and the variomatic gear system make riding on all kinds of roads, a breeze. The addition of Dio stripes on the front panel and the side panels and the ‘Monoscooter’ sticker add to the glitz called Dio.

 

ETERNO
Already the no. 1 geared scooter in the Indian market, the Eterno’s best in it’s class average and performance has taken the country by storm. Selling over 10,000 units a month, the Eterno now will proudly wear the tag of ‘Eterno 150’.

The changes are in line with Honda’s commitment towards understanding consumer needs, surpassing their expectations and translating this understanding into day-to-day production. Continuous assessment of the market by HMSI helps it improve its products, keeping them in harmony with the expectations and needs of the customers. The variants introduced are a result of deep research to assess the preferences of the target market.

All HMSI scooters come with a 24,000 km / 2 year warranty. The Unicorn comes with a 32000 km / 2 year warranty
