Sportscraft Autocross 4th September 2005 |
SPORTSCRAFT AUTOCROSS (FOR FOUR WHEELERS)
After a five-year break, drivers get a chance to test and display their driving skills in the Sportscraft Autocross for four wheelers, to be held on September 4th, 2005 at the Godrej Ground at Vikroli – Opposite the factory.
Sportscraft, who first brought the concept of Autocross to Mumbai in 1988, will be organizing this event. The event will run under the aegis of The Federation of Motor Sport Clubs of India, the National Sports Federation recognized by the Government of India. This is closed invitation event. The event will commence at 9:00 am.
The Autocross is an event which tests the capabilities of both man and machine. It involves skillful driving at high speeds on a specially chalked out obstacle – laden, zig-zag course, and each participant is timed to the a 100th of a second. A ‘touch’ to any of the obstacles along the course entails a penalty of 10 seconds, which will be deducted from the time registered by the participant during his routine exercise.
The event will run in six various categories depending on the vehicle's Cubic Capacity.
Twenty five entries have been confirmed for what promises to be an exciting and eventful Sunday. Gautam Singhania, Himanshu Gondal, Farokh Commissariat, Neville Poonawala, Ashish Doshi, Asif Haidery , Hrishkesh Thackersey, Balu Bafna and Keshav Tanna along with his son Nakul Tanna are among those who have already confirmed participation.
