Round 2 : Chennai : 22nd & 23rd July 2006

Chennai : The second round of the Gulf Dirt Track National Championship is scheduled on the 22nd & 23rd July 2006 which, will be held at the St. Georges School, Poonamalee High Road, at Chennai. The event is sponsored by Gulf Oil Corporation Limited, which is today the 2nd largest private sector company in the Indian Lubricants’ market. They have taken onto them to promote events for two wheelers at the grass root level and to take motor sports to the mass.

The event is organized by Mumbai’s Sportscraft under the aegis of The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India.

The Gulf Dirt Track National Championship is open to riders from all over India .it encourages experts as well as novice riders.

The Championship consists of the following groups and classes:

Indian Novice Class

1. Motorcycles above 80cc upto 150cc, Group ‘D’
2. Motorcycle upto 125cc , Group ‘D’
3. Motorcycles above 125cc upto 160cc, Group ‘D’

Indian Expert Class

1. Foreign motorcycles upto 250cc, 2 & 4 Stroke, Group A
2. M/c upto 150 cc 2 stroke – Group B and M/c upto 250 cc 4 stroke – Group B.

Private Expert Class

1. Motorcycle above 80cc upto 150cc 2 stroke, Group ‘B’
2. Foreign motorcycles upto 250cc, 2 & 4 Stroke, Group A

There will also be supporting races for Scooters and Chennaities Local 4 Stroke class. While the National Championship round will have Rs.2,50,000/= as total prize monies, the zonal round will have a prize money worth Rs.1,50,000/= and trophies.

Entries for the same will be accepted till Friday the 17th July 2006 : 1700 hrs. Late entries will close on Tuesday 20th July 2006 @ 1300 hours.
