Gulf Dirt Track National Championship 2006 for 2 wheelers @ Nashik 11-12 November 2006 Stewards exclude Rustom Patel

The round 4 of the Gulf Dirt Track National Championship was held in Nashik on 11th and 12th November 2006. In the "Above 80cc up to 150cc, Group B - Private Expert Class", Mr.Pinkesh Thakkar of Pune on his Yamaha won. This class witnessed a lot of action especially in race 2 where Snehal Chavan while overtaking was nudged by Rustom Patel which sent him for a toss and Snehal could finish only in 6th position. Snehal Chavan filed a protest due to which the results of this race was withheld subject to conclusion of the inquiry initiated by the Stewards, for this incident. During the inquiry CD was called from one of the TV Channel which had recorded the enitre incident.

From this it was clear that Rustom Patel had nudged Snehal intentionally. In view of this, disciplinary action was taken by the Stewards and Rustom was excluded from that race. Additionally Rustom was also fined Rs.10,000/- and his competition license endorsed for not adhering to the track rules and not listening to the officials. Snehal was also fined Rs.3,000/- and his competition license was also endorsed as his team members, family members and friends threatened participants and created undesirable and unpleasant atmosphere during the event.

1ST TROPHY + RS.3000/- : GANESH LOKHANDE : YAMAHA

3RD TROPHY + RS. 1500/- : SHAMIM KHAN : YAMAHA RX
