Gulf Dirt Track National Championship 2006 for 2 wheelers 15-16 April 2006 : Mangalore

Mangalore, will have the privilege of staging the first leg of the Gulf Dirt Track National Championship on April 15th and 16th. The event will be organised by Mumbai's Sportscraft in association with Mangalore Motorsports Association under the aegis of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd, is a 100 years old company and is the second largest lubricant company in India among the private oil companies. The company manufactures all types of automotive as well as industrial lubricants in their state of the art plant at Silvassa. Gulf Oil also is exporters of their finished products to many other countries and is present in about 80 countries across the world.

Dirt Track is spectacular in-stadia and quite thrilling event, with a mass start. This could be done on any ground (surface) there are no jumps etc.

There is big prize money at stake, with the winners of each leg of Gulf Dirt Track National Championship taking home Rs 93, 500/-, while the overall winners in the Championship class, will receive prize money worth Rs 2,50,000/-

The following are the categories, which will run for the Gulf Dirt Track National Championship ’06:

Please Note the following:

1. Minimum Six riders are required to constitute a class. The organisers reserve the rights to cancel or merge a lower class to a higher class in case a class is not formed.
2. Only vehicles, which are homologated with the FMSCI, will be eligible for the championship classes.
3. The following FMSCI competition Licences are mandatory – Group A & B: Full License and Group D: Restricted License.
4. A competitor and his vehicle can enter only in one Group ‘B’ / Group ‘A’ class.
5. We will require the following:
1. Vehicle papers for all Stock bikes i.e. Group D category and engine number – chassis number for all modified vehicles i.e. Group B & Group A.
2. Personal Accident policy with hospitalisation i.e. Plan A, to the tune of minimum Rs. 1,00,000, for your benefit we would suggest also take a mediclaim policy.

Round 1 : 15^th&16^th April @ Mangalore
Round 2 : 22^nd & 23^rd July @ Coimbatore
Round 3 : 16^th & 17^th September @ Nagpur
Round 4 : 11^th & 12^th November @ Nasik
Round 5 : 9^th & 10^th December @ Jaipur

For the 1^st round, which will be held at Mangalore on the15th and 16th April, the Local Class will consist of riders residing and bikes registered in South Kanara and Udipi only.

The entries will be accepted at: Sportscraft – till 12^th April 17:00 hrs.
Local entries only (South Kanara & Udipi) will be accepted between 11^th & 12^th till 17:00 hrs as early entry & late entries will be accepted on 13^th April till 13:00 hrs. Local entries will be accepted by Mr. Suddhir B.K. contact 9845085827
