Chennai, 21st July 2006 : Riders from Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Mangalore, Hyderabad, Nashik Jodhpur, Coimbatore and Jaipur have landed at Chennai to show their skills and prove their ability in the Gulf Dirt Track National Championship. Over 110 outstation entries have been received.

There are two special classes for local residents : Motorcycles above 80cc upto 150cc- Group D 2 stroke & Motorcycles upto 160cc- Group D 4 stroke. These two classes are for riders residing in Tamil Nadu and Motorcycles registered in Tamil Nadu.

This is the second round of Gulf Dirt Track National Championship and will be staged at St. Georges School, Poonamalee Road, KilPauk, Chennai.

This event is sponsored by Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd., which is the 2nd largest private sector company in the Indian Lubricants market have come ahead to grow motor sport in India at grass-root level. It is two years in a row that they have supported this Championship. Gulf Oil Corporation also provides the necessary lubricants required to enhance the performance of the participant’s vehicles for all these events.

The event is organized by Sportscraft under the aegis of The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

On 22nd July, scrutiny will take place at the venue from 09:00 am onwards. The event is open to two wheelers in various categories

The winners will take home Rs 75,000 and trophies at the end of the day.

The Gulf National Champion of the year will be determine after 5th round.
