Raipur: It is for the first time that Gulf Oil Corporation Limited will stage Gulf Dirt Track National Championship (GTDNC) in Raipur at Science College Ground, G.E.Road on 16th & 17th September 2006. This is third round of this year’s Gulf Dirt Track National Championship.
The
event is sponsored by Gulf Oil Corporation Limited and co-sponsored and supported
by Chhattisgarh Tourism Board (CTB) and organized by Mumbai’s Sportscraft,
in association with Chhattisgarh Motor Sports Association (CGMSA) under the
aegis of the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of India.
To give support and boost to the event, Honorable His Excellency the Governor of Chhattisgarh State Shree K. M. Seth is the Chief Patron and Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal, Tourism Minister, Chhattisgarh State is the Patron of the event.
After the 2nd round held in Chennai there has been major changes in the leading positions. In the Indian Expert Championship class H. K. Pradeep over took the reigning Gulf Dirt Track National Champion C. S. Santosh both from TVS Racing Team . The points in foreign Motorcycle upto 250cc class are as follows: H. K. Pradeep of TVS Racing Team with 67 points & Karan Kadam with 63 points followed by T. K. Vishwanth with 49 points.
However in Motorcycle Above 80cc upto 150cc Group ‘B’ 2 Stroke class (Private Expert Championship) Rustom Patel is still ahead of the fray accumulating 70 points, followed by Raja from Bangalore with 63 point and Ganesh Lokhande from Nashik with 55 points.
Leading
the Novice classes are: Motorcycle above 80cc upto 150cc Group ‘D’
2 Stroke is Arvind K.P with 37 points followed by Hafeezur Rehman with 20 points
both from TVS Racing Team.
Where as in Motorcycle above 125cc upto 160cc Group ‘D’ 4 Stroke
Novice class is Hafeezur Rehman (TVS Racing Team) is leading with 37 points
followed by Gyanesh Shukla from Mumbai with 26 points.
Way ahead
in the lead in Private Expert Championship – Foreign Motorcycles upto
250cc Group ‘A’ 2 & 4 Stroke class is Snehal Chauhan from Pune
with 63 points followed by Badal Doshi from Mumbai with 58 points.
The event to be held in Raipur
would feature 12 classes, out of which seven classes are championship races.
In the remaining five categories, three would be open to all, while two races
would be for the riders from the Raipur. As there are various groups and classes,
the event is not restricted to professionals only. In fact, anyone having a
two-wheeler can compete.
There will be a special class for Ladies on Scooter upto 110cc class)

the private sector Lube Company’s in India, is more then 100 year old
brand, and is marketed in over 100 countries worldwide. Gulf Oil offers a wide

and two wheelers, and diesel engine oils meeting prevalent Euro Norms. Other

Over the last four years, the Gulf Dirt Track challenge was staged in 12 cities, providing motorcycle freaks a chance to test their riding skills. With more manufactures entering the fray, the event is gaining in popularity.
The prize money at stake is huge as the winners of this round will take home Gulf trophies and prize money of Rs. 75000/-.

The Standard entries close on 11th September 17:00 hrs. The late entries will
be accepted till 14th September 13:00 hrs.
The Championship will be held in the following classes and points garnered from the same will be counted over the five rounds of the Challenge:
