17 drivers from Sri
Lanka representing the Asia Motor Racing Club have come down to India to
race against some of the top Indian drivers in the Formula LGB class. The
Sri Lankan drivers will using the 10 Formula LGB vehicles which they had
purchased from L G Sports in 2005. The race meet will be held at the Kari
Motor Speedway in Coimbatore this weekend.
There will be two qualifying sessions on Saturday 4th February . The two
main races will be held on Sunday 5th February. Each race will consist of
15 laps. The races on Sunday will commence 10 a.m.
The man to watch from Sri Lanka will be Dejan Zoysa who drove alongwith
Armaan in the Formula BMW Asia Series 2005.
J K Tyres who have also been the first to promote new ventures in Indian
motor sport have come forward to sponsor the event and supply the tyres
free of cost.
There will also be a two hour endurance for motorcycles which will be held after the car races on Sunday. Noted Indian riders will be participating in the endurance race meet.
