K. Rajini grabs double pole, Ashwin Sunder and Emmanual Clarke top grid positions

The final round of the FMSCI approved Ucal Rolon National Road Racing Championship 2006 for 2 Wheelers will be held at the Sriperumbudur Race Track tomorrow (3rd Dec 2006), wherein India's top riders would be fighting for the coveted "Indian National Racing Championship 2006" title.

The qualifying sessions to determine the grid positions for the various races to be held tomorrow was held today.

Championship classes

K. Rajini of Team TVS Racing had a great qualifying race day at the MMST track in Irrungattukottai as he captured both double pole positions in the qualifying races of the final leg of the Ucal Rolon National Racing Championship 2006.

In Group D 4 stroke 80 – 110 for experts it was Emmanuel Clarke taking the pole with the fastest lap timing of 01:23:794 while young Ashwin Sunder grabbed the pole in the 111 - 160 cc class with the fastest lap timing of 01:17:846. K. Rajini achieved double pole in expert categories of both Group C stroke 111 to 150 cc class & Group B 4 stroke 111 to 160 cc categories with timings of 02:06:156 & 02:17:778.

Novice classes

In the Group D 4 stroke for novices, M.Sudhakar secured pole position in the 80 to 110 cc class with the fastest lap timing of 01:27:169, while Abijith Rao topped the grid in the 111 to 160 cc class by timing the fastest lap of 01:20:082. K. Umesh Babu topped the grid in the Group D 2 stroke 111 to 150 cc class for novices having timed the fastest lap 01:19:572. In the mopeds category E. Raffi had the fastest lap timing of 01:30:938.

The races for the TVS Race a Bike scheme in Fiero and Victor categories were also held today. In Group D Race 1 J. Balaji and Satish Babu were the winners in Fiero and Victor categories respectively. In Race 1 for Group B Muralikrishna and R Dinesh emerged winners in Fiero and Victor categories respectively

The races will commence tomorrow at 9 am. Tomorrow’s races will also feature demo races of 1000 cc imported SUPER bikes, Enfield and Rajdoot 350 cc bikes.
