The second edition of the J K Tyre Junior Racing Cup got off to a great start with 19 Formula Maruti cars lining up the grid. The hot and humid afternoon did not seem to have any dampening effect on the drivers who went all out to achieve their dreams in the racing arena. Racers from Kolkatta, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kerala and Chennai were seen in action today.

Race 1 saw pole leader Narain Shankar from Chennai and Rams Racing team coasting off to a very comfortable win after getting off to a booming start in the 8 lap race. Narain went to build up a very impressive lead and finished almost 15 seconds ahead of his nearest rival. Finishing in 2nd place was Bangalore lad Sudarshan Rao also from Rams Racing team. Delhi racer Rohit Khanna and from Team Wallace Sports took the third place. Narain Shankar had the fastest lap timing of 01:14:851.

Race 2 saw yet another roller coaster ride from Narain Shankar as he won his second successive race of the day to with a remarkable double. As in race 1, Narain was again able to capitalize on a very good start form pole positon to register another convincing win. Delhi boy Nishchay from Team Wallce Sports did well to finish second after starting 6th in the grid. Sudarshan Rao staring in 2nd place fell back and had to settle for the sixth place. Narain had the fastest lap timing of 01:14:287.

18 cars in the fray as a technical problem forced Sumit Maluja to withdraw form the race in the formation lap.
