Vishnu Prasad spearheads the success of the newly launched
AMARON SCHOLARSHIP KARTING TEAM

The Amaron Scholarship Karting Team in association with Meco Motorsports, comprises of 3 karters in the Junior category and 1 karter in the Mini Max category taking part in the JK Tyre Rotax Max Karting Challenge. The costs of driving in the full championship are fully funded by Amaron.

The Amaron Scholarship Karting Team took the honours in the Junior category as well as in the Mini Max category. In the Junior class, Vishnu Prasad from Chennai and Karan Goenka from Kolkatta came 1st & 2nd respectively while Shashank Ravishankar from Chennai took the honours in the Mini Max category. All the 3 karters belong to the Amaron Karting Team.

The race of the day was the Junior class wherein the top 6 karters were all within a tenth of a second of each other and it was anybody’s race. To add more interest to the race was the fact that Vishnu had to start last in the Finals as his throttle cable broke in the Pre Finals and he did not complete the Pre Final race.

The finals was a 20 lap race and it got the huge crowd on their feet for the whole race. Vishnu drove brilliantly making some breath taking moves to pass one kart after another to finally take the lead by lap 10 and dominated the race from thereon. Vishnu also got the fastest lap of the race with a lap time of 40.6 seconds. The KMS Karting track in coimbatore is a very difficult track to overtake as it is a very high speed circuit and when Vishnu started last and finished first, it clearly showed that the Chennai lad has some great things in store for him in the future.

The Amaron Karting Team is under the tutelage of India’s hottest racing star, Armaan Ebrahim who spent 3 days with the youngsters on the track before the race, pushing them to their limits. It was evident that young Vishnu gained the most from this with his powerful display of aggressive racing.

Karan Goenka from Kolkatta also drove a superb race to finish 2nd. Karan dominated the Pre Finals with a comfortable win.

12 year old Shashank Shankar from the Amaron Karting Team, led from start to finish in the 2 heats, Pre Finals and Finals and now looks all set to win the Mini Max category in the JK Tyre Rotax Max Karting Challenge.

Commented Akbar Ebrahim, Team Principal of the Amaron Karting Team : It was one of the best karting races I have witnessed in a long time. Vishnu dominated the practice, qualifying and heats and unfortunately had to pull out of the Pre Finals due to a throttle cable failure. Not many at the track gave him any chance to win the race as overtaking at the KMS track is extremely difficult.

Vishnu displayed tremendous grit and courage and made every move to pass the karts ahead of him to perfection. He has tremendous speed and kart control and I am very hopeful that this boy will go a long way in his karting career before he makes the step to racing. Hopefully with time he will learn to train his brain to understand the mechanical aspects of the kart which is something that he tremendously lacks at this point of time.

To sum it up, I can positively say that I can see a thoroughbred racing driver in the making which is what the Amaron Scholarship Karting Team is all about.
