Dilip Rogger finishes 9th in
FIM Asian Grand Prix The round 4 of the FIM Asian Grand Prix was held at the Sepang Circuit, Malaysia on 2nd September 2007. India's Dilip Rogger took part in the SuperSports 600 cc category with his Honda CBR 600 cc bike. There were a total of 22 riders on the grid from Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Italy, Singapore, Germany and India. In the qualifying on Friday, Dilip secured 12th position on the grid. In the race 1, Dilip had a good start and also managed to overtake a few riders in the first corner itself. However, finally, Dilip could manage to finish in 9th position. In race 2, Dilip finished in 12th position. In the Championship Classification after round 4 Dilip Roggers of India is in 10th position out of 30 riders.
Said Dilip " It was raining when I started the race 1.It was a good start for me.I managed to run to first corner overtaking my opponents. Later few riders overtook me because their bikes were much more powerful. Finally I managed my race form and finished in 9th position. In Race 2, the track was in half wet and half dry condition. I thought it dangerous to ride with my previous timing in that condition. I was careful to avoid any crash and wanted to finish the race 2. I managed to finish 12th. Considering that my bike had only basic race modifications, due to severe budget constraints, I am happy with my performance. I only wish that I get some sponsorship to enable me prepare my bike better and keep the Indian flag flying high in the Asian GP." The next round of the FIM Asian Grand Prix is at the Zhuhai Circuit, China on 25-28 October 2007. ** END ** |
