The final round of the JK Tyre Rotax Max Karting Challenge in Kolhapur on the 30th of September is all set to be a cliff hanger. The Junior and Senior classes are being ferociously fought and any one in the top 5 positions in the points can win the challenge.

The winner of the Junior & Senior classes get selected to represent the country in the Rotax Max World Finals being held in Dubai in November 2007.

To add value to this pulsating final, Meco Motorsports and JK Tyre are adding a few more classes to the event which will provide good entertainment value to the participants and the spectators.

Three additional classes are being added for the Finals and they are as under :

1) Ladies Class : 18yrs & above : The Karts that will be used are the EVO-AE 1 Karts introduced by Meco Motorsports and manufactured by KNK Karts with the latest Subaru 4 stroke engines. Qualifying will be on Saturday and the fastest 10 Ladies will get selected for the 10 lap race on Sunday. The top 3 winners will get trophies.

2) Men’s Veteran Class : 40 years & above : The Karts will be the same as mentioned above and the top 10 qualifiers will be selected to race on Sunday. Qualifying will be held on Saturday. Trophies will be given to the top 3 winners.

3) Open Class : Any chassis with any 4 stroke engine subject to a maximum of 400 cc is permitted. This will give an opportunity to kart and engine manufacturers to show case their products and their expertise by using the best karters to drive their karts. Modifications on the engines are permitted and the only restriction is the CC. The chassis’s have to be approved by the organizers taking all the safety aspects into account. Make of tyres are free.

The entry fee for the Ladies class and the Veterans class will be Rs 1500 which will include a Karting Licence valid till the 31st December 2007. Parents or family members of all karters taking part in the Rotax categories will get a free entry in either the Ladies or the Veterans Class.

The entry fee for the Open class will be Rs 2500.
