Qualifying : Coimbatore : 18th Aug 2007

With around 75 racers in the fray, the qualifying day races of Round 4 of the Ucal Rolon National Road Racing Championship for two wheelers at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore saw heated action. With the championship interestingly poised at the mid way stage, riders were seen in full cry as they went all out to grab the premium positions on the grid. Ucal Rolon National Road Racing Championship is a National level Championship event duly approved by the Government of India's National Sports Federation viz. The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

India’s ace international racer Preetham Dev Moses of Team TVS came up with an excellent drive to clinch pole position in the premium Group C 2 stroke 150 cc expert category with the fastest lap timing of 01:10:774.

Last year’s champion of champions Ashwin Sundar from Team Yamaha was in good form taking pole position in Group D 4 stroke 80 to 125 cc expert class with the fastest lap timing of 01:24:883. In Group D 4 stroke 125 - 160 cc class it was K. Rajini from Team TVS who timed the fastest lap of 01:22:721. K. Rajini also had the fastest lap in Group B 4 stroke 110 to 160 cc open category. R. Deepak annexed the pole position in the Group B 4 stroke 250 cc open category timing the fastest lap - 01:17:746.

In the novice category R. Karthikeyan is the pole leader in Group C 2 stroke 110 to 150 cc class having timed the fastest lap of 01:22:419. Rohit V. Giri took the top slot in the Group D 2 stroke 150 cc class with the fastest lap timing of 01:25:646. Taking pole positions in Group D 4 stroke 80 to 125 cc and 125 to 160 cc classes were A.Sathish and S. Shankar with fastest lap timings of 01:32:852 and 01:26:248 respectively.

R. Karthikeyan took the honors in the moped category with the fastest lap timing of 01:38:031.

The main races will commence at 9.30 am on Sunday (19th August 2007).
