It was celebration time at the Team TVS camp as their duo of Preetam Dev Moses and K. Rajini won two national championship titles each today and thus brought the curtains down on a glorious note on a day which saw thrilling action and innumerable delays. The final round of the Ucal Rolon National Road Racing Championship, an approved FMSCI National Championship concluded today at the Madras Motor Race Track at Irrungattukottai near Chennai.

Preetam Dev Moses

On track it was action packed racing with riders fighting it out for the last time this season. The huge crowds were delighted by some excellent high speed racing displayed in the Group A Races which saw India’s Asian GP Racer Dilip Rogger exhibit his brilliant racing skills. Off track action were the unprecedented scenes of over enthusiastic crowds trespassing over into the track at different points leading to races being delayed.

Experts

Group "C" In both the races of the premium Group C 2 stroke 150 cc class, it was Preetam Dev Moses in sterling form as he raced away to record a double win enabling him to win the national championship title.. Finishing 2nd in both races was team mate K.Rajini while Sriskandarajah and T. K.Vishwanath of Team Yamaha had to settle for third places in Race 1 and Race 2 respectively.

Preetam Dev Moses of Team TVS Racing continued his winning run in the Group D 4 Stroke 80 - 125 cc class as he thundered away to another spectacular double win. Sriskandarajah of Team Yamaha and Preetam’s team mate Harry Sylvester finished in 2nd and 3rd places in both races.

In the Group D 4 stroke 125 - 160 cc class, it was a clean sweep for Team TVS as their racing trio of K.Rajini, P.Karthick and Harry Sylvester annexed the top three places in Race 1. Race 2 saw Rajini complete a grand double by winning the top slot. Harry once again finished 2nd while R.Deepak of Team Libra Racing finished third.

The duo of K.Rajini and Preetam Dev Moses from Team TVS were involved in a fascinating Race 1 of the Group B 4 stroke 160 cc category. Ultimately, Rajini edged past Preetam to seal the race in a nail biting finish. Harry Sylvester also from Team TVS finished third. Rajini completed yet another double by taking the chequered flag in Race 2.

It was another enthralling duel between K.Vinoth and R.Deepak as the duo fought it out to grab the top slot in Race 1 of the Group B 4 stroke 250 cc class. In one of the closest finishes of the day, Vinoth squeaked past the chequered flag to win a well fought race. Deepak had to be content with a 2nd place finish. Bala Vijay finished a distant third.

Novices

In the Group C 2 stroke 150 cc class A. Satish Kumar took the honors in Race 1 while Race 2 saw M. Venkatesh taking the chequered flag. In Group D 4 stroke 80 - 125 cc category S. Shankar scored a double winning both the races. S. Shankar continued his good run winning Race 1 in the Group D 4 Stroke 125 - 160 cc class also. V. Murugan took the honors in Race 2. Taking the honors in both races of Group D 2 stroke 150 cc was P. Deva Kumar.

In the moped category it was Umesh Babu who took the chequered flag.
