The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the National Sports Federation recognized by the Government of India and the International Federation viz. Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), today approved the Technical Data Form for the much awaited Yamaha R15, according to a circular from the FMSCI. Yamaha R15 is eligible to participate in the India's National and National Championship motorsporting events from 11th September 2008, the circular added.

This has been welcomed by all racing enthusiasts as this would mean that the Yamaha R15s will be seen in action in the ensuing round of the National Championships for road racing as well as rallying.

In the meantime, Yamaha has planned an exclusive motorsporting event for their customers of Yamaha R15s this week end (7th September 2008) at Irungattukottai Race Track here in Chennai.
