
Chennai,
27th Dec 2008 : As the Formula Maruti cars stormed the tracks
once again, it was Chennai youngster Gokul Krishna
of Wallace Sports continuing his
domination in the JK Tyre Junior Cup. Gokul
lapped up three more wins today at the Madras Motor
Race Track at Irungaatukottai near Chennai as the third and
penultimate round of the event unfolded today. Gokul
Krishna has now created a new record in the history
of the 4 edition old JK Junior Cup by winning nine races in
a row – three each in Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3.
Race 1
saw pole leader Gokul Krishna off to a good
start and build up a comfortable lead over his nearest rival
K.Prashanth of Rams Racing.
However, Prashanth was unable to make any
further dent and had to be content with a second place finish.
Another promising youngster fro Guwahati and Wallace Sports
B.Paragjyothi finished a distant third.
For the
eight time in succession it was Gokul Krishna who
took the honors as he romped away to record yet another thumping
win in Race 2. With Prashanth of Rams
Racing falling out of the race after the second lap
due to technical problems, it was B. Paragjyothi who
captured the second place while Vikash Anand of
Rams Racing came third to get his first podium
finish in this championship.
In Race
3, the final race of the day, it was once again the irrepressible
Gokul Krishna as he kept setting up new records
every time he finished a race. His win in this race made it
nine times in a row for this new talent on the racing horizon.
The results for the second and third place in this race had
been withheld and will be announced later.
A delighted
Gokul showered praise on the efforts of his
very experienced vehicle tuner of Wallace Sports,
B.Maneksha which provided him with a winning
vehicle.
The fourth
and final round of the JK Tyre Junior Cup 2008 will
be held on Sunday, 28th December from 10 am onwards. Entry
for the public is free.
