Chennai : 28th Dec 2008 :History was created as the curtains came down on the fourth edition of the JK Tyre Junior Cup in the Formula Maruti class which concluded today at the Madras Motor Race Track at Irungaatukottai. And blazing away to unparalleled glory and creating new records in the racing annals of the JK Tyre Junior Cup was none other than the 21 year Chennai lad Gokul Krishna from Team WSRF who continued his unprecedented history making epic till the very last. Gokul lapped up three more wins today. Gokul Krishna has now created a new record in the history of the 4 edition old JK Tyre Junior Cup by winning twelve races in a row – three each in all the four rounds. Gokul Krishna clinched the Junior Cup title while Prashanth K (Team RAMS Racing) from Chennai and Paragjyothi B (Team WSRF) from Guwahati finished in first and second runners up positions.

Infact, I started my Formula Car Racing only last year wherein I could participate only in 5 races. But I always dreamt of being on a podium atleast once this year. "

But this year Gokul created history by winning all the 12 races that were held .

"I am fascinated by records...be it in any sports. I always wanted to create some record. But I definitely did not expect that this would happen so soon. I am thrilled and very very happy. I must thank my team & my mechanic ; without their support, this would not have been possible"

Race 1 was red flagged in the course of the 3rd lap following a vehicle skirmish between Prashanth of Rams Racing and Aaron Dsouza of Team Aaron Dsouza Racing. The race was restarted as a 3 lapper and with the first two laps of the red flagged race it was merged and completed as a five lap race. Gokul Krishna got off to yet another good start and built up a comfortable lead over his nearest rival and team mate B.Paragjyoti from Guwahati to wrap his first win of the day and his tenth win on a trot.

For the eleventh time in this event it was Gokul Krishna who took the honors as he raced away to record yet another splendid win in Race 2. Team mate B. Paragjyothi captured the second place while Prashanth of Rams Racing came in third.

In Race 3, the final race of the day and the event, it was once again the invincible Gokul Krishna as he rounded off the event with his twelfth successive win of the event and in the process signaled the arrival of a new star on the racing horizon. Prashanth finished in second place and sealed his 1st runner position while Karthik Krishna from Rams Racing came in third.
