FMSCI announces Indian National
Rally Championship (INRC) for Motorcycles

The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the National Sports Federation of Government of India & the Indian Federation of the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) is pleased to announce the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) for motorcycles from the year 2008.

In the coming years, with the involvement of more sponsors and more rounds, I am sure, that this would become the premier National Championship in India. I wish to thank the organizers, riders, sponsors and others for making this National Championship possible.”

Mr.J. Prithiviraj, Vice President & Chairman FMSCI 2 Wheeler Commission said : “ This is a great news indeed for 2 wheeler motorsport in India and we will endeavor to make this National Championship an annual feature of our motorsporting calendar like Dirt Track, SuperCross & Road Racing National Championships. Other new Championships like SuperMoto, Motocross etc. are on the anvil and this is a very good beginning indeed. “

The FMSCI INRC will consist of 5 rounds in Bangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Kolkata & Coimbatore with a possibility of 2 more rounds in Coorg & Hyderabad.

The INRC will be run on a special stage format which will have transport sections on normal roads and timed special stages which are closed to normal traffic. The maximum length of each special stage is set at 30 kms and the minimum at 2 kms. The minimum total distance of special stages is set at 75 kms and a maximum of 100 kms. Only solo riding will be permitted.

Only Indian 2 wheelers (4 Strokes) homologated / TDF with the FMSCI are allowed to participate in this National Championship.
