Karthik Shankar & Naren Shankar of Team RAMS Racing triumph
in Formula LGB Hyundai Enduro Race
Pole for Sarosh Hataria in Formula Rolon Chevrolet & Karthik Shankar in Formula LGB Swift

The duo of Karthik Shankar and Naren Shankar from Team Rams Racing took the honors today in the endurance race as day 1 of Round 3 of the JK Tyre National Racing Championship 2008 unfolded at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. It was an exciting session of racing skills and speed making the 90 minutes a thrilling affair all the way. The change of drivers was effected every twenty two minutes. The winning combination sealed the win by completing 68 laps in a timing of 1 hour 30 minutes and 07 seconds. In 2nd place was the brothers duo from Team WSRF with Leela Sudanand and Prithveen -who completed 67 laps in 1 hour, 30 minutes and 11 seconds.. The combination of Shankar Narayanan and Saif Mir from Team Meco Racing took the third place completing 66 laps.

In the qualifying round of the Formula LGB Swift category, it was Delhi lad Karthik Shankar of Team TVS Girling who took the pole with the fastest lap timing of 01:11:490. Saran Vikram will start in 2nd place followed by Vishnu Prasad of Team TVS Girling in third place.

In the premium Formula Rolon Chevrolet category the pole position was clinched by Sarosh Hataria of Team Red Rooster. Starting second will be team mate Akhil Khushlani and third on the grid will be Saahil Shelar from Team Speed NK Racing.

The Super Saloon category saw Radha Selvarajan taking pole position, while in the Race Star Car class Mazdayar Vatcha clinched the pole.

In the Super Bike class, Alok Shashidhar and Baskar Ramani took the grid positions in the 1000 cc and 600 cc categories respectively.

The races on Sunday will commence at 10 am. Entry for the public is free.
