Karun starts on row 1 ; finished 8th in race 1

Sakhir, Bahrain : 05th April 2008 : In the qualifying session held on Friday, the 4th April 2008, Karun Chandhok (iSport International) finished 2nd behind ART Grand Prix Driver Romain Grosjean. Karun Chandhok after qualifying said : “I hope this time around, we won’t have a problem at the start, like we did in Sepang. Hats off to Romain: he did a very good lap again. I’m pleased to be back on the front row. The car wasn’t perfect for qualifying. I hope we have some better ideas for the race. We should be out there: the win is definitely in my reach. We’ve given away so many free points and podiums this year it’s giving me the extra will to do a great performance tomorrow."

In race 1 today (5th April) The ART Grand Prix driver started on pole position today, but didn’t manage to take off well and let both iSport International men take the lead - Chandhok in front of Senna. Further back in the pack, Luca Filippi and Marco Bonanomi crashed after the first corner which led to an early safety car. Most of the cars came back to the pits with the exception of Marcello Puglisi, Hiroki Yoshimoto and Milos Pavlovic. Karun Chandhok came out of the crowded pits but quickly spun in his out-lap on cold tyres.
