Kawasaki Cup

The finals of the Malaysian Super Series 2008 (MSS) was held between 17th & 19th of October 2008 as a support race for the Malaysian Moto GP.

K Rajini of Team Red Rooster took part in the SuperSport 600 cc Open category. During the free practice, K Rajini set the 2nd fastest time of 2:22.302. He qualified 3rd. In Race 1 and Race 2 on Saturday and Sunday, Rajini finished 3rd. K Rajini finished overall 2nd in this international event with 132 points.

Rohit Giri, team mate of K Rajini took part in the SuperSport 600 cc Novice category. Rohit set the 6th best lap time of 2:30.229 during free practice, and qualified 8th. In Race 1, he finished 3rd and in race 2 he finished 4th. Rohit missed the title of the Championship by just 5 points and had to settle for overall 2nd with 181 points.

Emmanuel Jebaraj who is supported by Red Rooster Racing, Live Life and Eclipse Malaysia decided to participate in the SuperSport Novice category only from last round. Jeba set the 8th fastest time in free practice with a timing of 2:30.229. However, he improved him timing during qualifying and qualified 5th. In race 1, Jeba maintained his position and finished 5th, however in race 2, while trying to overtake a rider, lost control and could not finish the race.

Emmanuel Clarke participating in the Kawasaki Cup category had a good weekend. Qualifying in 8th place Clarke finished 8th in Race 1 despite his front brakes and 6th gear failing. Race 2 saw a repeat shpw from Clarke as he finished in eight place once again. He finished overall in 7th place in the championship in this category. Clarke is sponsorsed by Dollar Apparels, PAGALAM TRAWELLS, Jenny’s Residency and Sangeetha Group of Hotels .

P. Karthick who was racing in the Production class category had a spate of bad luck with injuries making him miss the last round. However despite missing out on these race Karthick finished 7th overall in the championship. Karthick is sponsored by Perot Systems and TVS.
