The round 6 of the ADAC Formula Masters Championship 2008 was held last weekend at the Sachsenring Circuit, Germany between 20-21 September 2008 and our Indian driver Ashwin Sundar took part in the Championship .

The Practice session was held on Friday, the 19th September 2008 which was a mixed day for Ashwin. In the first session of 30 minutes, Ashwin in lap 2, went off the track and broke the brake pipe and there ended his practice. However, in the second practice session, he started up slowly and ended up 10th. After the 2nd practice Ashwin Said : "I did my fastest timing in the last lap ; I am still getting used to the track, I am now confident for the qualifying tomorrow"

Saturday was a cloudy day. The Q1 session was closely fought and Ashwin achieved the 12th fastest timing which was .30 off the 5th place. In Q2, Ashwin improved and qualified 8th.

In Race 1, Ashwin had a good start from P12. After the initial mistake in braking in the first corner, Ashwin did well and finished a creditable 9th which earned him 2 points as well. "I had a pretty good start. In first corner I braked a bit too late and to avoid the car in my front, I had to go little bit off track. I lost 2 places. But I've achieved my best result of the season so far"

The Race 2 was declared a wet race and it was the first wet race for Ashwin and he started from P8. Ashwin had a lot of wheelspin in the first lap itself and fell back to 15th place. Finally Ashwin finished 13th. Ashwin said "I could have surely done better if it was a dry race. But I am happy, I learnt something new, driving in the wet. I also had problems with my helmet visor, it was fogging up and I could not see where I was going few times. I really look forward to my next race in Oct and confident that I would do better and also earn some points"
