JK Tyre in yet another effort of creating a platform for the young talents in the country, introduces first time in India, a thrilling and adventurous non-stop 24 hours International Kart Enduro Race in Goa on April 19-20, 2008. The concept of the event is designed to take the Karting at the forefront with international level of Karting Championships. The race meet will attract the finest talent across the country and will witness huge international participation from the countries like Malaysia, Srilanka, Singapore, Australia, Finland and Netherland.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Head - Motorsports, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., said, "We are pleased to announce JK Tyre 24 hours Kart Enduro Race meet. This is the first time in India that we are introducing an event of such stature which will form a platform for our budding talents in the country to excel and represent the country internationally. The participants are the two and four stroke level kart winners of the JK Tyre National Karting Championship. Our aim is to make this event as a regular property of JK Tyre and create an ambience of an international event to get more international talents competing with our stars. Hence, the event will put India on the map of the international level of karting.

He added, "JK Tyre has taken upon itself an easy process for Indian Drivers by taking over Registration, Engineering costs, Boarding and lodging, all on the house. Additionally, Goa track is a homologated track (approved by motorsport associations worldwide) and such kind of event will be a boost to the tourism in the region."

The event will take place over a period of 24 hours; it will be run non-stop with mandatory stops for oil changes. Each team can have a minimum of 4 drivers and a maximum of 6 drivers. No driver is permitted to drive continuously, including pit and refueling stops, for more than 120 minutes without driver change while each driver must rest for at least 30 minutes between driving stints.

The rules to participate in the event are in compliance with the international standards. Any driver who is a holder of a National Karting Participation License and for International Karters a holder of International C Karting/Racing license with individual or team Entrant/Driver's License is valid for Karting or Racing and for the current year, issued by the ASN affiliated to the CIK-FIA. Each team must have two drivers for the 2 qualifying sessions. In the 1st qualifying session, driver A of each team will be given a 1 lap qualifying run. In the 2nd qualifying session, driver B of each team will be given a 1 lap qualifying run. The aggregate time of both the drivers will be the qualifying time of the team to determine the grid position.

Year 2000 saw the culmination of an annual National Go Karting Championship under the auspices of JK Tyre that had the participation of the winners of the regional karting championships across seven cities. This established a step-by-step platform for the talents to hone and showcase their skills. Today JK Tyre National Racing Championship and Karting championships are the two most awaited events by Indian youth.
