The 19th edition of the All Women’s Car Rally, an annual event oragnized by the Madras Motor Sports Club, is scheduled on Sunday, 3rd August 2008 at Chennai. This year’s rally will see JK Tyre sponsoring this event for the first time ever. This event is co-sponsored by Xtra Premium (Indian Oil), HI! Tours, Club Mahindra and Cookie Man. Radio City (91.1 FM) is the radio partner.

Based on a Time, Speed and Distance format (TSD), the rally will cover Chennai city and its suburbs over a distance of 80+ kilometers over a period of three and half hours.

The event will be flagged off by celebrities at 9 am on Sunday, 3rd August 2008. The results will be announced on Monday, 4th August 2008 followed by the prize distribution at 6 pm.

The event is open for cars of all engine capacities and categories including diesel cars and jeeps. All occupants in the car should be only women. The maximum number of persons recommended in a car is four.

The rally will be held in 4 categories:- Expert, Regular, Novice and Duchess – the last mentioned being a separate category for the members of the Duchess Club.

Entry fee is Rs.600. Entries close at 13.00 hrs on 2nd August.
