Gurrik clinches pole in Senior Class ; Pole for Parth Ghorpade and Dhruv Mohite in Junior and Micro Max classes

It was an exciting session as the qualifiers of the second round of the JK Tyre Rotax Mojo Karting Challenge 2008 got underway at the Kari Motor Speedway at Chettipalayam near Coimbatore today.

The senior class witnessed a very tough fight with the cream of top karters from the country fighting for the top positions on the grid on day one. Gurrik was in excellent form as he came up with a good performance to notch up the fastest lap with a timing of 00:40:365. Coming in a very close second place was Mumbai racer Ameya Walavalkar while young Karan Goenka finished in third place.

Parth Ghorpade had the fastest lap timing of 00:40:315 in the Junior category. Finishing in second place was Chittesh, while the third place was annexed by Chennai youngster Vishnu Prasad.

In the Micro Max class it was Dhruv Mohite who impressed with a performance that helped him finish on top with the fastest lap timing of 00:48:779. Timing the 2nd and 3rd fastest laps were two promising youngsters - Krishna and Arjun Maini. Arjun Maini had won Round one of the Asian Zone Karting Challenge which was held in Malaysia in April 2008.

The finals will be held on Sunday, 8th June 2008 during the post lunch session.
