Triple delight for Gokul Krishna in Formula Maruti Class
Deepan, Prabhu, Bharat Raj & Arun Pillai share honors in bike races

Gokul KrishnaChennai : 01st June 2008 : The races for newcomers saw around 50 riders in the fray for newcomers in two wheelers and 10 riders fighting it out for the first round of the JK Tyre Summer Junior Cup. The races which were held at the Madras Motor Race Track at Irrungattukottai near Chennai, saw some close encounters and spirited racing despite the competitors being raw and inexperienced. There was no lack of effort and the enthusiastic riders went all out to achieve honors.

For Team WSRF it was a memorable weekend as the team’s racers came up with consistent performances to reach the podium in all the four races. It was a terrific outing for Gokul Krishna who had three wins and one second place finish to his credit. Justin finished first in the first race. In the two wheeler category It was N. Deepan who stole the thunder with two wins. Deepan finished with three wins, but was penalized in one race for scrutiny bay violation and subsequently was pushed to third place. Prabhu, Bharat Raj and Arun Pillai also did well with two wins each to their credit.

In the Group B 4 stroke upto 130 cc category, N.Deepan took the chequered flag in both the race. Deepan won Race 1 with a very comfortable margin. In Race 2 It was a very close duel between Deepan and Jagan, but the former managed to pip Jagan to the post.

The 'Group B 4 stroke Above 130 upto 165 cc' class races was dominated completely by A.Prabhu who notched up significant double win. D.Rajkamal and Joel Joseph finished 2nd and 3rd in both the races.

S. Ravi was at his best as he raced away to build up a good lead and finish on a winning note in Race 1 of the Group 2 stroke upto 165 cc class. In Race 2 it was N.Deepan who took the honors.

In the TVS Race a Bike (Group 1), Bharat Raj emerged winner in both races. In the Group 2 category it was Arun J Pillai who took the honors by winning both races.

The final round of the summer races will be held next weekend.
