After the successful race for the newcomers on 11th & 12th May 2008 for 2 wheeler riders, Madras Motor Sports Club will hold races for newcomers this weekend in the two wheeler and four wheeler category. This is part of MMSC’s continuous exercise to encourage motor sports and unearth fresh talent. These races will be held at the Madras Motor Race Track at Irrungattukottai, near Chennai. The event is scheduled for this weekend – 31st May and 1st June.

The newcomers can participate in

1) Group "B" 4 Stroke classes upto 130 cc
2) Group "B" Above 130 cc upto 165 cc and
3) Group "B" 2 Stroke upto 165 cc.

Those riders who have won or come first in any road racing event or who has achieved a podium finish (1st, 2nd & 3rd) in any class / group in the National Championship previously and any other rider who the organizers decide does not fit in the Novice / Newcomer category WILL NOT be permitted to take part thereby ensuring that the novices / new comers get the real opportunity to fight amongst equals.

The famous TVS Race a Bike Scheme will also be run wherein the race prepared bikes are given to the riders for a nominal fee.

This race week end will also feature the race for the Formula Maruti category. JK Tyre have kindly agreed to provide the tyres free for this event.
