After a very successful 2007 season which saw Chennai racer Preetam
Dev Moses being crowned the National Champion
of Champions and finishing second in the Malaysian
Super Series, the ace racer from Chennai has begun his
new season with a bang. Preetam who had been
to Qatar for a personal visit received a special invite to race
in the fifth round of the UAE SuperSports National Championship
being held at the Dubai Autodrome on 7th March.
With Preetam hogging the limelight throughout
the last racing season, it came as no surprise when the invite
for Preetam came from Aldrin who manages Team
Pro Bikes in Dubai. A well known bike racer during the
Sholavaram days, Aldrin has been keen on promoting Indian bike
racers so that they reach international levels. As part of this
initiative Aldrin thru Madras Motor Sports Club extended an invite
to Preetam to participate in any one round of
the championship. Preetam used the opportunity
of his Qatar trip to spend 3 days in Dubai.

Preetam
in action
And racing on this track for the first time with hardly any time
for major practice sessions, Preetam qualified
5th in a grid of 20 which included racers from Great Britain,
Switzerland, South Africa. Italy, Saudi Arabia, Dubai etc. Race
one saw Preetam come up with a splendid effort
to finish in a very creditable third place and achieve a podium
on his maiden outing. In Race two, it was a close finish for Preetam
who missed the podium and finished fourth. The races
were held on the shorter lap ( 3.9 kms) of the National Championship
Circuit and consisted of 12 laps each.
Preetam’s one off performance in Dubai
has won high acclaim from the two wheeler racing fraternity in
Dubai who have also forecast a bright future at higher levels
for this youngster. Good sponsorship and continuous support is
what Preetam needs at this critical juncture.
Having the will to succeed, Preetam is all set
to corner more glory for the nation in the coming days.
