14th Sep 2008 : Capitalizing on the triple pole positions
on yesterday's qualifying, former national champion T.K. Vishwanath
of Team Anya Racing who re-entered the racing scene after a small
gap, marked his return with 3 wins, one second place and one third
place finish. Bike races in Chennai have always drawn huge crowds
over the years and today was no exception. As the speed machines
roared into action at the Madras Motor Race Track in Irungattukottai
for the third round of the FMSCI approved Ucal
Rolon National Racing Championship 2008,
around 120 riders from various parts of the country were seen in
action. The day saw a combination of spectacular racing and speed
as machines vied against each other in three different classes –
Experts, Intermediate and Novices.
Experts
Group
D 4 Stroke 165 cc:
Pole leader and former national champion T.K.Vishwanath
of Team ANYA Racing on his Yamaha R15
started his comeback trail in style by annexing his first win of
the day in Race 1. Off to a good start, Vishwanath held
on the lead comfortably till the end. Finishing second and third
were the duo from Team TVS Racing - K.Rajini
and Emmanuel Jebaraj. Race 2 saw T.K.Vishwanath
registering his second win of the day comfortably. Harry
Sylvester of Team TVS Racing and teammate
Emmanuel Jebaraj finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Group
B 4 stroke 165 cc: K.Rajini of Team
TVS Racing was in his winning mode as he went on to register
his first win of the day. Veteran racer Sriskandarajah of
Team ANYA Racing finished second. R.Deepak
finished third. Race 2 once again saw T.K.Vishwanath
in full cry as he went to record his third win of the day.
The Team TVS Racing duo of K.Rajini and
Harry Sylvester finished 2nd and 3rd.

B 4 stroke 260 cc: Race
1 saw a three way fascinating tussle between T.K.Vishwanath,
K.Vinoth - both from Team ANYA Racing-
and R Deepak. Ultimately in a thrilling finish
Vinoth prevailed to take the chequered flag followed
by Vishwanath and Deepak. Race
2 witnessed a pulsating duel between Vinoth and
Deepak with Vinoth ultimately
finishing ahead by a fraction. T.K.Vishwanath came
in 3rd.
Intermediate
Group
C 2 stroke 165 cc: Pole leader P. Deva Kumar
was off to a rousing start in Race 1. Building up a huge
lead Deva took the chequered flag by a huge margin.
S.Kumar finished second and Umesh Babu
came in third. Race 2 saw another commanding performance
from Deva Kumar as he took the chequered flag with
a huge margin. S.Krishna Prasad finished second
while Umesh Babu finished third.
Group
D 4 Stroke 165 cc: Pole
leader V.Sameer coastied to a comfortable win in
Race 1. Finishing 2nd and third were Emmanuel Clarke and
Sudhakar Kesavan. In Race 2 it was Shyam
Shankar who took the chequered flag ahead of Emmanuel
Clarke. Sudhakar Kesavan finished third.
Novice
Group
A 600
cc -
Race 1 saw Praveen Keerthi continuing his dominating
run in this class as he came up triumphs once again. Gopinandhan
and Mohammed finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Race 2 saw a repeat result for the first two places. Sarosh
finished third.
Group
A 1000 cc - It
was a nail biting duel for the top slot all the way between Alok
Sashidhar and Vikram . However, it was
Alok taking the chequered flag just a whisker ahead.
K.V.Balaji finished third. Race 2 results was a
repeat of Race 1.
Group
D 4 stroke 130 cc:
Sarath Kumar took the honors winning both the races
in this class. Alok Sashidhar finished a close
second while S.Ravi came in third. In Race 2. K.
Jagan finished second while once again S.Ravi came
in third.

D 2 stroke 165 cc : It
was a glorious double for S.Vivek Pillai as he
clinched comfortable wins in both the races in this category. Starting
in pole, Vivek had good starts in both the races
helping him clinch both wins effortlessly. Finishing second and
third in Race 1 were S.Vinoth and R.Karthick
respectively. S.Vinoth and A.Gowri
Shankar finished second and third places in Race 2.
Mopeds
For
K. Umesh Babu it was once again a double treat
as he took the honors in both races with comfortable margins.
