Dilip Rogger to test with Planet Cycle Malaysia in Sepang in 2010

- Offer received after successful Asian summit testing at KTM RC 8 R -

Malaysian Planet Cycle, Penang, Malaysia, headed by Mr. Kenny Lee has given a proposal to India’s ace international bike rider Dilip Rogger to test and race in the KTM RC 8 R in Malaysian super sport event beginning in March 2010.

Dilip had earlier tested and raced RC 8 R in June 09 at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben endurance race in Germany on May 2nd 2009 with former German Champion Thomas Kurtruf. Dilip’s recent presence in Malaysia in November for testing and Racing on RC 8 R has generated a lot of interest among Malaysian fans and riders.

With the help of Kenny Lee CEO of Planet Cycle,Malaysia. the Chennai youngster made his presence in the KTM Asian summit conducted recently by Kenny Lee and Selvaraj Narayana of KTM Sport motorcycle AG, Austria. Dilip’s demo and his superb unique talent involved riding Supermotor track amazed many riders from Asia. Dilip’s performance on the Sepang super bike track and his participation at the Asian summit and Orange Day activities was another feather in the cap for KTM at this incredible track.

Mr. Kenny Lee expressed his sincere appreciation for Dilip’s participation and Mr. Selvaraj Narayana’s dedication for the sport of Motorcycling. He noted ”we made the history at Sepang to bring the entire Asian Icon’s and few international riders to participate in Malaysian KTM orange day, I am thrilled and honoured”. Such an event has not been done in Asia in the past. This will be a milestone for all the festival activities for a motorcycle event.

Mr. Selvaraj Narayana stated “Having Dilip Rogger from India in Malaysian Asian summit and riding at the event brings a lot of memories, as a Indian, I can imagine Dilip Rogger’s dream of being at the Moto GP track and riding the same week has been a breathtaking experience to all of us. Even for me riding at the track with all the champions it is like a dream come true and it is once in life time experience”. He also noted that his experience in riding with Dilip with other riders at the Sepang Road Race track.

ISUZU’S LOHITT SEALS CHAMPIONSHIP WITH HATTRICK

India’s Lohitt V. Urs was crowned the 2009 AAM Malaysian 4x4 Rally Championship when he drove his trusty Isuzu D-Max to a well-deserved victory in the final event in Temerloh, Pahang last weekend. Lohitt's Navigator Moosa Sherif was placed second in the championship before start of rally and it was a must win for them to get the Championship for Moosa as well. By winning the rally Moosa too was crowned the overall Champion Navigator.

Securing his third win this season with a determined drive throughout the weekend’s three slippery and treacherous special stages, Lohitt, who hails from Mysore in Karnataka battled first with championship contender Chong Wee Siang in an equally-powerful Isuzu D-Max before a front snapped driveshaft threatened to end his winning streak in his debut season on Malaysian soil.

Equally delighted were his sponsors Isuzu Malaysia as CEO Takashi Hata congratulated the new champion for his impressive drives this season. “It has to be noted that Lohitt did us proud by proving the capabilities of the D-Max, winning three out of the four rounds. He drove with remarkable skill and determination,” said Hata.

“This year’s AAM Malaysian 4x4 Rally Championship has been very challenging as all four rounds placed their own demands on man and machine with conditions ranging from rough and narrow tracks to high speed and bumpy forest roads.

Despite leading the points standings going into the event, Lohitt knew that defending champion William Mei and newcomer Chong Wee Siang who were just ten and 11 points adrift. With 15 points available to the winner, it was anyone’s championship trophy for the taking.

As rain fell incessantly before the start of the event, the tracks became extremely greasy through the forest complex of Hutan Kemasul and Chong threw down the gauntlet by setting the fastest time through the stage, beating Lohitt by 24 seconds despite having gone off the road once.
