The
FxPro Cyprus rally is the 3rd round of the FIA World Rally
Championship (WRC) and 2nd round for the Production WRC
is scheduled between 11-15 March 2009. Gaurav Gill from
India is taking part with his Co-Driver Serior David from
Great Britain, representing TSI Racing Team.
The
Reccee was held on 11th March 2009. After the Reccee Gaurav
said "The reccee was very long
& taxing due to the slow pace on the difficult mountain
roads. I am very happy with the pace notes and feeling very
comfortable with my new co-driver David Serior"
The
Shakedown took place on 12th March 2009. The Shakedown took
place on a 3.35km test road located at Listovounos, 16km
from the rally base in Limassol.
The
stage was asphalt, in common with the first day’s
competition, but drivers tackled it on the same hard-compound
gravel tyres they will use for the whole event. Weather
conditions were dry throughout the session with clear skies
and a temperature of 19°C.
"We
just finished the shake down and as per the unofficial times
we are running in the top 5 in the PWRC category.The route
for the shake down was ver tough, with broken tarmac which
was also very slippery. I am very happy with the way the
car is performing. We’ve got a new turbo fit.I am
looking forward to a tough & long day tomorrow."

Mr. Mohan Nagarajan of TSI Racing said
“I am very happy the way Gaurav was Driving today
especially after not driving a Rally car for the last 4
months”.
