  • Akhil Khushlani triumphs in Formula Rolon Chevrolet
  • Win for Sudarshana Rao in Formula LGB Swift class
  • Duel wins for Alok, Jebaraj & Selvaraj

It was the turn of Akhil Khushlani and Sudarshana Rao to hog the limelight on day 2 of Round 2 of the 12th JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship 2009 which concluded today at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. While Ashwin’s vehicle failure helped in Khushlani’s win in the Formula Rolon Chevrolet class, Sudarshana did well to clinch a win in the Formula LGB Swift class.

With perfect weather conditions in place the day saw new generation racers making their presence felt with some spectacular performances to delight the weekend crowd. Also displaying their mettle and driving skills were the veteran racers From the saloon cars to the Super Bikes to the Formula racing cars, it was a blend of exhilarating speed and excellent driving skills as the cream of Indian racers exhibited their tremendous potential and talent.

Formula LGB Swift

Bangalore lad Sudarshana Rao of Team TVS Girling Racing came up with a good drive to clinch the top slot In Race 2. Despite a hot chase from winner of Race 1 Prithveen Rajan of Wallace Sports, Sudarshana was able to hold on to the lead till the last. Another promising youngster from Chennai, Ajay Kini of Wallace Sports came in third.

Formula Rolon Chevrolet

Race 2 of the premium category of the championship saw winner of Race1 Ashwin Sundar of Team NK Racing blazing away to build up a comfortable lead. Ashwin held on to the lead till the 14th lap when bad luck struck with his gear box failing and eventually bringing his vehicle to a halt. This was a boon for his nearest competitor from Team Red Rooster Racing, Akhil Khushlani who made no mistake and ensured that win was his. Finishing in 2nd and 3rd places were Sarosh Hataria from Amaron Pro Racing with Meco and M.Gaurav from Team Red Rooster.
