The sports division of the India Mines Group viz. IMG Sports will be the title sponsor for the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship for 2 wheelers, according to a press release from the FMSCI. The IMG Sports FMSCI - INRC for 2 wheelers will be a 5 round championship as follows :

Round 1 : Coimbatore : 20-21 June 2009
Round 2 : Bangalore : 15-16 August 2009
Round 3 : Mysore : 12-13 September 2009
Round 4 : Chikmagalur : 14-15 November 2009 and
Round 5 : Chennai : TBA

It must be noted that IMG Sports is also one of the promoters of the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship for 4 wheelers.

Last year, the FMSCI INRC for 2 Wheelers were run only for the 4 stroke bikes. There was a lot of representation from the 2 stroke bike riders. The FMSCI 2W Rally Committee headed by Mr.Bharat Raj, this year, had decided to include the 2 strokes as well and accordingly, the FMSCI INRC for 2 wheelers 2009 will be held for the following classes :

4 Strokes

1) Class 1 : Group "D" : upto 130 cc
2) Class 2 : Group "D" : 131 cc upto 165 cc
3) Class 3 : Group "D" : 166 cc upto 210 cc
4 ) Class 4: Group "B" : upto 130 cc
5 ) Class 5: Group "B" : 131 cc upto 165 cc
6 ) Class 6: Group "B" : 166 cc upto 210 cc
7 ) Class 7: Group "B" : 211 cc upto 260 cc

2 Strokes

1) Class 8 : Group "B" : upto 130 cc
2) Class 9 : Group "B" : 131 cc upto 165 cc
