British
Motorcycle Racing Club (BMRC) is the oldest & largest Racing
club in Great Britain. Successful riders from there will normally
move up to British Super Bikes (BSB) and then to World Superbikes
(WSB) or MotoGp depending upon their sponsors and luck. Casey
Stoner is an well known example who has raced with BMCRC in the
past.
Emmanuel
Gnanaraj who is a National Champion of 150cc in 2001
in India, is now racing in United Kingdom with BMCRC with his
YAMAHA R6 in the Open Rookie class. Emmanuel is
known as "Manny -THE NURSE" among other British &
European riders. He is quiet popular among the British racing
crowd being the only Indian rider to race in Britain at the moment.
He
has already finished couple of races in top ten positions out
of 44 bikes on the grid which includes 1000cc and 750cc. He was
the second fastest rider in qualifying at Round 1 at Brandshatch
circuit near London. In round 1 his best result was that he finished
10th in 600cc & 11th overall. In Round 2 at Snetterton circuit
his best was 8th place in 600cc & 10th overall. Emmanuel
is preparing himself for the next round at Cadwell park
circuit to be held on the 16th - 17th May 2009.

He
said, "It was a bit challenging for me to adapt
to the high standard of Racing in the United Kingdom compared
to Malaysia where I raced in 2007. I am pleased with my results
so far knowing that we are competitive although running with standard
engine and we are going to tune the engine for next round which
will give us more power and confidence, hopefully will finish
on podium".
