Emmanuel Gnanaraj : Indian racing in UK

British Motorcycle Racing Club (BMRC) is the oldest & largest Racing club in Great Britain. Successful riders from there will normally move up to British Super Bikes (BSB) and then to World Superbikes (WSB) or MotoGp depending upon their sponsors and luck. Casey Stoner is an well known example who has raced with BMCRC in the past.

Emmanuel Gnanaraj who is a National Champion of 150cc in 2001 in India, is now racing in United Kingdom with BMCRC with his YAMAHA R6 in the Open Rookie class. Emmanuel is known as "Manny -THE NURSE" among other British & European riders. He is quiet popular among the British racing crowd being the only Indian rider to race in Britain at the moment.

He has already finished couple of races in top ten positions out of 44 bikes on the grid which includes 1000cc and 750cc. He was the second fastest rider in qualifying at Round 1 at Brandshatch circuit near London. In round 1 his best result was that he finished 10th in 600cc & 11th overall. In Round 2 at Snetterton circuit his best was 8th place in 600cc & 10th overall. Emmanuel is preparing himself for the next round at Cadwell park circuit to be held on the 16th - 17th May 2009.

He said, "It was a bit challenging for me to adapt to the high standard of Racing in the United Kingdom compared to Malaysia where I raced in 2007. I am pleased with my results so far knowing that we are competitive although running with standard engine and we are going to tune the engine for next round which will give us more power and confidence, hopefully will finish on podium".

Emmanuel Gnanaraj is sponsored by LIVE LIFE & VERVE STUDIO from India. SETON TUNING, MOORE SPEED RACING, INSIGNIA SIGNS, FURLONG TYRES, RACE LAB and SES from UK.
