Parth Ghorpade produced another strong race performance
to finish 4th in round 3 of the Central European Zone Trophy held
on 4th and 5th July at Pisek in the Czech Republic. Driving for
the Intrepid Force Rotax team from Austria in only his second
European outing, he did well to be amongst the front runners throughout
the practice sessions, with a 2nd in final timed practice , 1st
in warm up on a damp track with slicks , and the 3rd fastest race
lap.

Given
the race pace , a podium was always a possibility , and only a
couple of kart lengths separated him from the 2nd place driver
at the chequered flag. Pisek is a unique track set in the middle
of a forest with big elevation changes and challenging chicanes
, and is more physically demanding compared to the average kart
circuit. The local Czech drivers had an advantage as this track
was not familiar for most of the others too. At the end of the
day, only two of the local drivers had a marginally faster race
pace, which was commendable considering the others included those
who have qualified on pole or finished in the top 5 in recent
Euro Max Challenge races.
