SuperBike rider Emmanuel Jebaraj
joins Ten10Racing

Sharad Kumar joins Varad More for Group ‘B’ up to 160cc category

Ten10 Racing has signed on rider Emmanuel Jebraj for the Group ‘A’ Superbike races. Jebraj will compete in the 600cc Expert category. The 32-year old has been racing since 1997 in various categories and has won five National Championships. He is currently riding in the Malaysian Super Series 600cc category.

Jebraj brings with him years of on-track experience and is a valuable addition to our team.

Ten10 Racing believes in developing upcoming talent in motorsports and to that end have signed on 17-year-old Sharad Kumar to join Varad More in the Group ‘B’ up to 165cc category. Sharad will be making his debut in the upcoming third round of the Rolon FMSCI National Motorcycle Racing Championship on August 29 – 30, 2009. Varad and Sharad will be trained to race in international events in the 2010 season.

Privateers Vikram V. and Sanjay Kumar also joined Ten10 racing to improve their competiveness in the 1000cc Superbike category. Director, Ramji Govindarajan said that Ten10 Racing is committed in supporting talented riders by providing them with a professional racing set up to harness their potential.

Ten10 Racing made their presence felt in their first race at the historic Irungattukottai Track on August 1 -2 with two podium finishes in both the Group ‘A’ Superbike races of the JK Tyre SuperBike Cup. With temperatures hovering around 40 degrees, the races were a huge strain on the riders who came through in flying colours.

1000cc Open Category

On race day, rider Vikram V. was still recovering from a broken collar bone, the result of an incident in an earlier FMSCI National Championship race. Overcoming pain and stiffness in the shoulder, Vikram pushed the competition to finish in P2 in the first race. Although visibly strained, Vikram was even faster in the second race and once again climbed the podium for his second P2 of the day.

Rider Sanjay Kumar improved his performance at the Irungattukottai track by over six seconds, improving his best time from 2:03s in the previous round to 1:57s seconds. An aggressive strategy got him to the P3 position in each race.

Rider Rajeev Raju, who debuted in the previous round, showed tremendous improvement in pace and confidence, shaking off a crash in Qualifying to ride even faster on race day. He finished in P5 in both the races.

600cc Expert Category

Riders Emmanuel Jebraj and ‘Poncho’ S. Gopinandhan faced a difficult weekend with both bikes overheating. Jebraj finished in P6 in the first race and pushed his position up to P5 in the second race. Poncho was also restrained due to a sprained wrist and mechanical issues and finished in P7 in both the races.

This was Ten10 Racings first race at the Chennai track and the results have been very positive. The team is now looking forward to the upcoming third round of the FMSCI National Racing Championship on August 29 – 30 where they will compete in the Group ‘B’ upto 165cc and the Group ‘A’ Superbike category.
