The Western
India Automobile Association (WIAA), celebrating its 90th year,
has planned for a Vintage & Classic Car Rally in association
with Vintage and Classic Car Club of India (VCCCI) on Sunday,
the 5th April 2009 in Mumbai. The event is sponsored by “The
Trident”.
The Trident
which used to sponsor Vintage Car Rallies in 1980s is back again
this year after a long gap.
More than
100 rare Vintage cars and Motor cycles are entering the fray.
Yuvraj of
Gondal has entered his 1956 Mercedes 300 SL, the only car in India,
is the first entry and the car is coming all the way from Gondal.
The same car used to be raced by the Maharaja of Gondal in the
1960’s and 1970’s at the Juhu race track and has won
several trophies.

Hormusji Cama has entered 5 of his rare beauties which includes
the 1928 Rolls Royce-20 HP which has done only 500 Miles till
date.
Already 50
entries have been accepted.
The oldest
bike 1911 Triumph of Nitin Dossa is the first entry in the bike
category.
Entries will
be accepted at WIAA till 2nd April 2009.
